Well this has certainly taken an interesting turn! I had never considered our PT-90 for a jazz guitar but someone tried it and the guitar is now their #1. Of course, a brighter, more articulate P90 is a natural for a jazz box.
Here's what they said:
"PT-90 in my ES-125
Hi Telenator,
I've had a week with this....and I have to say "my compliments to the
chef!"
The PT-90 is super articulate and sensitive just the way I wanted....and has a
brilliance that the old P-90 lacked. As much as I liked to play that
ugly red ES-125 it tended to stay in the case since I favored my
Guilds....but not so anymore. Its got its own thing going on now and is a
blast and infectious to play.
I've been bringing the bass side poles up a little but overall the
balance is great.
I think some of those P-90 ES-175 playing jazzers that like a little
more punch and edge like I do, would be quite pleased with this pickup.
I'll spread the word.
Thanks for your great work and knowledge, getting me set up and taking care of me so quickly. I'm sure I'll be back!
'til later,
Diane"
