Lacquer checking?

How long should I wait before I can check the lacquer after spraying?

I sprayed two medium coats of Watco gloss on my neck and would like to attempt to check it soon.

The longer you wait the better the results. The nitro needs to cure and get on the brittle side. There is always the razor blade method, IMO looks more realistic if done correctly.

Three months minimum in my experience. The most realistic results I have had is after about 6 months, left it to heat and freeze on daily basis for about a week one winter. Dry ice, the spray can method and razor blades are all disappointing and unrealistic IMO.
A chest freezer which would fit a whole guitar in would be a good substitute.

Got the chest freezer.

Any way to speed up the curing process?
