Allparts TMO neck - Which Fender Telecaster is closest?

Hello,

I posted this on the main Tele Discussion forum and then realised that this on was probably the best place for it.

I'm trying to get my Partscaster build specs sorted out.

Has anyone used the Allparts TMO Tele neck in a build (the specific TMO model, not the -C or -FAT models etc)?

Is there a current Fender Tele neck that is closest to the TMO in terms of shape and thickness? I'm trying to get an idea of the size and shape of these necks since I haven't seen one in person.

Thanks,

M.

You've lost us here. Without the suffix, the TMO just means Tele Maple Unfinished. Tells us nothing about the size.

To try and anticipate your question, try the search function here and sock up as much as you can. Threads such as this:

If you don't try each individual TMO model separately, the search function will not work.

MBT74 - I got a TMO a couple of months ago for an assembly. I'm a hobby player not an expert but I think if you tried something from the classic series with a C profile it would be pretty close. Make sure whatever you play has a 7.25" radius and vintage frets, and, as always, YMMV.
BTW, I bought mine from Mark at MJW Custom who levels and dresses necks before he ships them. It took a while due to back order but he gets my recommendation.

Boris - I know what you mean about the suffix on TMO's but this version doesn't have one. It just says TMO:

Replacement Neck for Telecaster®;
AllParts Price: $170.00
Product Code: TMO
Description
•21 vintage frets (.079" x .043")
•Solid maple neck, sanded, unfinished and ready to spray

•Heel width 2-3/16”
•Tuning Peg Hole Diameter .340”
•Truss Rod adjustment at heel
•Neck thickness .85” at first fret, .96” at twelfth fret

Thanks for the responses. Kellycaster is correct, I was searching for information specifically on the TMO. I'd done forum searches before posting this thread and found plenty of references to the TMO-FAT necks and others but nobody who was talking about the plain TMO.

Thanks again for the info. Time to hit the guitar shops.
