Starting Some Winter Projects

After taking a break from building...my Texas Tele is on hold for now. The weather has kept me from completing the finish...I think I'll dry fit eveything and do a setup on it, then finish it in the spring. Anyway, I have decided to build some components in my downtime. I figure I can get some necks and bodies ready for finish next spring...or sooner if I find a warm shop.

After the success of my first neck build...pics here...

My First Neck Build (http://www.crenshawweb.com/texastele/ttp12.htm)

I cut enough flamed maple stock for 4 necks and fretboards. I also have a nice piece of Honduran Rosewood on the way...might put a rosewood fretboard on one of these. I'm hoping these will go much faster.

I have enough Maple left for some nice tops and maybe even a chambered, double bound thinline...bookmatched front and back. I also have a couple of Alder blanks in the shop...not sure what I'll do with them. I don't really want to hog out all the flamed Maple it would take to chamber the thinline, so I may go with Alder for the core and bend some 1/8" Maple for the sides
