classic vibe vs. vintage modified

I'm looking at grabbing one of these Squiers in a few months. I don't know if I'll be able to play them ahead of time (I dwell deep in the sticks). Any general observations?

Also- does anyone know if the top on the cherry sunburst is a photo finish? I'm guessing it is. Are all the VMs cedar, or just that one?

Okay, brain trust, let's hear what you think!

Between the two, I really like the CV. I considered buying one, but probably won't now because I'm building a 52 blackguard relic.

I'm not shopping for a Classic Vibe for "Trade" reasons. :^)

But between the two models, and given the price is almost the same and having played enough of both types, The CV easily beats the VM.

Yes, the VM Teles are all the same wood. It is "Tun", an overseas wood that is marketed as cedar; it is not the cedar you and I know. The Tun is a deciduous tree, not even a conifer.

Alright, then. You folks, as always, are a huge help. I was leaning CV-wards anyway. Thanks!!!
