Sterling Sound November 6th, 2009, 04:44 PM Wow, that's a really cool guitar... wonder how it will sound especially in the neck position!
garymaddox November 6th, 2009, 04:49 PM Another great build! I really admire your work.
Ron Garson November 6th, 2009, 04:50 PM Looks very nice!

telideli November 6th, 2009, 05:49 PM Just a few steps away from making it into a 'Joe Strummer'!
straightface November 6th, 2009, 06:12 PM Nice job!
dale_c November 6th, 2009, 06:58 PM Wow very tastefully done I must say....
Joefaity November 6th, 2009, 07:14 PM Excellent job ;)
62_Inca_Esquire November 6th, 2009, 07:38 PM Thanks guys. I'm REALLY happy with how this one turned out. The Fralin works well with the Seth - nice balance. I like the locking Klusons too - vintage looks but more stable tuning. I'm strongly considering keeping this one. It's a killer Tele !
BluesBrother November 6th, 2009, 08:28 PM It looks killer too! No doubt!

Awww.
This is what you call sculpture in wood.
Nice!
HOBBSTER01 November 6th, 2009, 09:34 PM Not too over the top as most home relics.
Very tasteful and authentic feel to your work.
Nice job.
(now may I have it?)
TELE_BLUES November 6th, 2009, 09:49 PM just right not too over the top
bossaholic November 6th, 2009, 10:21 PM Another work of art!

DMRoller November 7th, 2009, 01:43 AM Well done. Very nice.
boneyguy November 7th, 2009, 01:52 AM Really nice job. The relicing is very unerstated and believable. Good work.
tuuur November 7th, 2009, 03:37 AM Now that's a beauty! I'd have one of those please, but make it a double bound...
Now one question... why are the string ends sticking out?

That's the locking tuners. There are no "winds" to slip, so tuning is more stable. You have to have a tiny bit of string sticking out (the ends are about 1/16" - 1/8+ at most) to make sure that there is plenty for the lock to grip on.
62_Inca_Esquire November 7th, 2009, 12:41 PM Thanks everyone. Today I'm gonna tweak it a bit more, now that the neck is settling in from having tension on it.
jrich99 November 7th, 2009, 01:36 PM Looks good, but the best relics have equal wear on body and neck. I understand not wanting to change the playability of the neck, but I personally love the feel of a broken in neck.

Actually, I did it on purpose. I SPECIFICALLY didn't wear the neck, but instead sprayed super light coats of nitro so it will wear "quickly and naturally". A couple months play and the neck will be "well worn and completely broken in", and it will look more natural as well.
PS - not "all" real vintage guitars "wear equally".There are a LOT of vintage guitars with significant body wear and "light" neck wear. The more you look at "real" vintage guitars, the more you realize that there are "no rules" with regards to aging a relic.

loog November 11th, 2009, 10:24 AM inca esquire.
lovely job, did you cut the nut your self or was it precut and slotted.
did you get the nut from allparts with the neck ... if not where did you get the nut and how well did it fit into the tmo v.
I am just about to order a tmo v from allparts and wanted to get a preslotted nut for pre-finish set up.
any chance of some more detailed pics and close ups of the v profile.
thanks
again - a lovely job
