Been reading postings on various internet forums about this new analog delay pedal from EH. Most comments were that the Memory Toy is comparable to the MXR Carbon Copy for its delay features, at about half the price, but that the modulation feature is unusable at the stock setting - that the only way to make it usable is to adjust the internal trim pot.
I've had the Carbon Copy and now have a Memory Toy. Having played it for a few hours, I have to say that the Memory Toy is every bit as good as the Carbon Copy for delay, and IMHO as good if not better for modulation - stock, no adjustments. Modulation can get a bit weird at extreme delay and feedback settings, especially if the blend is turned up to 100% wet. But at moderate settings, it sounds great as is. Not quite a chorus effect but something close to it.
This is a very good analog delay pedal - and the price is almost too good to be true...but it is! And its small footprint is very pedalboard-friendly.
