52 Hot Rod Pickguard Question

So I tried out my tele that's on layaway that came in from Fender today, and I have a question about the pickguard.

On mine it looks like it's not a pure black pick guard.

It looks sort of like this.

the other colour (not black) seems VERY subtle.

I think they made a mistake by putting this one on. Does anyone else have the 52 hot rod tele? Is your pickguard pure black? Should I get mine changed back? Does it make the guitar worth more/less?

Any thoughts?

I think that's what it is. That's what the guitar shop said it probably was too.
