Yesterday I left home with my old sunburst American Strat & returned home with a new, Daphne Blue American Strat The folks at my local shop made me an offer I couldn't refuse...
This link shows the model & specs, but is not the actual guitar- it is however, the best descriptive account of the guitar I've been able to find: http://www.wildwoodguitars.com/elect...6/z9403886.php
Now I've only got two things to change- the first is to acquire a "mint-green" pickguard. The second is the installation of a "Tone Shaper" from Acme Guitar Works: http://www.acmeguitarworks.com/ToneS..._P2032C218.cfm (I was sold on this after watching the videos... especially the second of the two).
Practice should be interesting... last time Chris (our worship leader) and I visited the shop, I was ogling a Squire Strat in Daphne Blue with a maple fingerboard- he said he'd refuse to let me play "...such a girlie looking guitar" HA! Take into account he is un-schooled in the hipness of early Fender color options as he knows little about electric guitars; he's an acoustic guy. Maybe a trip to the Philly Vintage Guitar show this weekend will be a helpful 'field-trip' for him
Can't wait to get home tonight I change strings
Photos to come...
