The last Fender Tele I had was in the late 70's. I just picked up a 1986 Squier Fender Telecaster. This guitar plays just as good, if not better then the 70's edition. The serial # begins with the letter "E". Is there anything special about these MIJ Squier Tele's? What should have I paid for it. Newbie, so thanks for the help.........Steve
PS. Color looks butterscotch to me, with a maple fret board.

Those E s/n Squiers from the '80s are held in pretty high regard I believe. Not sure but I think I remember someone mentioning that they were going on ebay for $500-600.
I'm sure Sneakyjapan and some of the Squier specialists will chime in and give you more precise details.

I have an "E" series strat ... great guitar.
If you wish to know more about the made in Japan JV, SQ and E series head on over
to: www.21frets.com.
It's a site mainly for the JV junkie but they talk alot about the other early Squires
and have a fourm with a section just for "E" series talk.
