Hi Everyone!
In the early 70’s I was playing a SG into a Twin Reverb and really never could hook up with it. So I decided to try a Fender. I went to play a used Thinline that was for sale by a local band. I played live with them and discovered immediately that I could hear all sorts of things on the Tele that I couldn’t before and the guitar seemed to play itself. I played that guitar exclusively till the mid 90’s, and wore out the frets. I then tried Starts, loved them and have owned different ones since. I am finally learning how to play with humbuckers and really enjoy a 335 today.
I have had different pickups on my Strats and a couple on the Tele including some Fender custom shop and SCN’s. Personally I was astonished at how much I do like the SCN’s and they are dead quiet.
I play casually with a few local guys now once a week and it is an important part of my life. I get to process all my feelings and emotions when I play. I always feel great after.
Glad to be here!
