Good grainless Tele wood

What would be a good grainless to minimal grain wood for a tele body?

Basswood? Poplar?

Some also light in weight; low or no grain, too boring for me!

If you put oil on Basswood it really makes the grain pop out pretty nicely and gets dark as pine. I'd use some other finish material on it if you don't want the grain to show. I made about 5000 IQ games over the years with basswood and used mineral oil as a non toxic finish.
