MY BIO:

I'm just a lowly strat player with too much credit card debt that spends too much time playing and not enough time working. I play a lefty strat with a MIM body, took the rosewood neck off a MIM righty, put a callaham lefty bridge on it (had to dowel it and re-drill because MIM spacing is different than the callaham bridge spacing.) then threw some kinman woodstock pups in it. Play the whole Frankenstein straight into a 18w that I built myself. (A trinity 18w sIII layout, basically a TMB with some tweaks)

You hang out here and it will be very soon that you find yourself out Tele shopping. It just kinda works that way.

Welcome aboard.

Hello, a strat player can't be tottaly wrong, you just have to remove a pup, the whammy bar, the upper cutaway, and it'll be allright. Wecome!!

Hehe I've had tele fever for over a year... something about that debt keeps holding me back... Problem with being a southpaw is I cant just get a CV tele or something... So then I'm up around $600 for a decent lefty and I'm thinking, you know what, it'll take me 6 months to save that, and for that money, why not give ron kirn a call? it's only a thousand bucks more, right!? Why not?

So my first tele is likely a year away, but it will be so worth it.

BTW; I like your linux tele.

You know what I don't have any; I'll take some on Sunday for Y'all. It would be nice. I'd do it tonight but I'm afraid I'll be trick or treating all weekend.

I played nothing but a Japanese Tele, with a humbucker in the bridge position, a whammy bar, and a grand piano black finish for something like 15 years (see my avatar). It was a beautiful guitar when I bought it but beat to death by the end. It passed away like an old dog and I had to lay it to rest. So I went out to buy a new guitar. I thought "I have been playing a Tele for so long. Maybe it's time for a change." I actually got a deal on an American Standard Ash Strat AND a "Best of Class" Gibson Nighthawk at a great price from a music store that was closing and it was their last day. It was a great deal and I was smart but I have been hungry for another Tele ever since. So to take the edge off I went out and bought a placebo, a $200 yellow Squire Tele. I LOVE that guitar. I use it all the time. While you could argue it's not the same thing, and I will get the real deal someday, I have to say; do what you will to my Strat or my Hawk but nobody better touch my placebo!
