Is there a best way to remove an existing paint/finish on a pedal in order to get down to the raw metal and do a custom paint job? Thanks.

Thanks. 11 Gauge October 28th, 2009, 08:46 PM If you're putting paint over top, just get it clean, maybe fine sand it a bit, shoot a little primer, and then put your new color on. If you want to put some sort of translucent color over the bare metal, you'll need a stripper to remove (what I'm assuming is) the old powdercoating. Stripper is nasty stuff, and removing powdercoating is particularly tough. While you could get it bare with regular stripper, I recommend "aviation" stripper, because it works, FAST.
