What can I do with this tele?!

I'm about to start building an ash tele (traditional layout) and a mahogany les paul special (2 P90s, 2 vol, 2 tone, rosewood f/board).

I already have a MIM tele standard (totally stock except with baja switching) and I want to mod it to cover some bases not covered by my two builds. I'd like to keep the control plate, pots and switching as they are. What can I do with it? So far I've come up with:

1. Swap the pickups for a pair of TV Jones.
2. Esquire it (maybe with a hum cancelling or stacked bridge)
3. Swap the pickups for HBs (more of a Les Paul tone but I'd have to start swapping pots etc)

Please help!

A minhumbucker in the neck? I love them like that.

P90s in the tele?
Or "Esquire it"!

both very cool suggestions. I'm always dubious about having two different types of pickup in one guitar - what do you do about the pots and resistors etc when they have to cope with a single coil and a HB?

Convert it to Tele Plus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fender_Telecaster_Plus)? HB in bridge - SC strat in neck.

that tele plus is the first time in months (maybe years) that I've seen a model of tele I'm not familiar with. Looks VERY interesting!

cheers for the answers so far!

I think you should build the other two guitars first and see what sonic turf they occupy. Then mod the Tele to fill the niche.
