Got a new TC Elecronic chorus!

This thing really kicks but! I now it's alot of $$ but what a great churus pedal. Sounds great in mono mode also.

Yeah Randy, that is my all time favorite Chorus pedal. Like a fool I sold it about 3 years ago when I got a rack-mounted TC G-Major. Big mistake. Not nearly the same.

One day I'll have 'er back.

Bought an original all black TC Chorus at Columbus Guitar Show a few years ago. Had to have the output jacks resoldered and thought I paid WAY too much for it.(@$225.00). Saw the guy I bought it from a couple of years ago and he ofered to BUY IT BACK! I'm keepin' it. It may be the best chorus sound in mono ever built IMHO.

TC has long been my fave for the slower rate chorus tones. The high end is so crisp & clear. I use Pitch Modulation mode, which to me sounds even less colored than Chorus mode. Have to say though that I think the flange is a bit of a dog... ringing metallic overtones that are especially nasty as combined with some dirt... TC does not have the depth, movement, & pitch warble to be my fave for the fake Leslie stuff, but it will certainly do it. My perfect chorus stomper would be a combo of TC SCF for slow rate stuff, BOSS CE-1/Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus - type sound for the fast warbly stuff.

I gave chorus boxes the boot off my electric guitar board quite a while back, but the TC lives on my acoustic-electric board. I set the external Input Gain trimmer at, or near, minimum.

i tried one of these TC chours boxes for the first time not long ago-i can see why it's so highly regarded...i wasn't sure where to set the trimmer(had it about 10:00)for unity but it sounded great and i didn't want to turn it off. i also have an old TC distortion/booster that belongs to a friend of mine-not the most vibey OD ever made but very clean and the booster function is probably one of the best ever.

I love mine. I bought one about 8 years ago from Billy Cox at a pawn shop he used to run in Nashville. It was a steal for $50!! =)

I have an old black one and love it. If you tweak it enough, you can find a sweet spot where it feels very analog-like.

Lately, I've been using it more than my Way Huge Blue Hippo because my Hippo seems to add a bit too much high end.

Well, since it's entirely an analog chorus, I should hope so! :D

(Just teasing, I know what you mean. But some people do mistake this for a digital "chip" chorus like some of the later Boss pedals, etc., which is definitely isn't.)

He hee - PC, you're right, of course. At some settings they can seem a little harsh or sterile which makes some folks think they're digital, but with a little knob twisting they sound great.

I saw Roscoe Beck last week using one for his fake Leslie comping. "Set to maximum warble!"

Yeah, I used to use that warble too. Great way to fake "Cold Shot" or other such tunes.

And I agree with Amos and the others totally--dial it in just right and it is SO sweet.

I'm looking for a chorus pedal. I had one of the TC Chorus pedals a few years ago. I liked the sound of it very much, but it made a popping sound when the footswitch was used (on and off). TC Electronics suggested that it was a design flaw on their part that didn't make the TC Chorus interface well with pedals that have true bypass. Their solution was to put the Chorus before all true bypass pedals, but then I wouldn't be able to use it in stereo mode.

Does anyone have this problem with theirs? Have they revised their ciruit to fix this problem?

Capitol Bill's Pawn ....used to be on Nolensville Road, just off of I-440.

That's where I first met Billy. I had been in town about a week, and was just discovering all the pawn shops and such. He came out and talked to me for about 20 minutes, and I didn't even recognize him. He talked about Clapton and Beck and Hendrix.

Then he turned to the left, and I noticed his profile...and it hit me....from the Woodstock videos.

I said, "Are you Billy Cox?"

He said, with a huge grin, "Yeah, you can call me that, but when my momma used to find my stash, she'd yell 'William R. Cox' get your butt in here!".

He cracked me up.....you have to say the 'R' with his accent...say 'ARE-UH'. :lol:
