After doing some scrap samples with a tinted minwax waterbase stain, I'm now thinking I may want to grain fill my ash tele body. Don't mind if its tedious, think I'm up for it. Considering the Stew-Mac waterbased filler(black or brown...thats another decision where suggestions r welcomed).
Also, what's the best product for my initial sealer? I am planning to seal first, then multiple passes with waterbase grainfiller...then my wb minwax color. Seal again, clear coat with Tru-Oil(several x's). Am I on the right path? I'm totally new to all this but really determined to achieve my vision. For the record, don't intend to spray.
Back to the grainfiller...not necessarily looking for the ultra smooth glass-like finish. But my ash body has unique grains that I really want to stand out. Want to use a dark color filler. Plus from my short time being a member here I know should grainfill ash, most do. So I wanna go for it.
So any and all advice, product recommendations, pics, etc. would really be appreciated. Again, first time around for me so pardon any "stupid questions"
Thanks
Don B
