Hello, new here and out of practice with forum crawling. My name is Jordan, I'm 22. The last couple of years I have spent playing mostly jazz although I'm not a jazz player. I was hired to play with a local sax jock which got me into following complex charts and such (this has turned into an unintended and quite extended affair.) Prior to that I started doing most of my bar gigging at 18 playing first in-place-of then with my father in a "jam band" type of thing. We played very very extended versions of songs by Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, the Meters, Neil Young, the Band etc... Turning 18 and almost immediately picking up a weekly gig at a local bar in this day and age is something I feel very fortunate to have had. At the same time I was also playing in an instrumental progressive rock band inspired by King Crimson, Tool, the Mars Volta, Carlos Santana etc..
