hello friend,
i have been a long time "lurker" & have finally decided to join the community. i guess my hesitancy came from not owning a tele. though i would like to at some point. they are my favorite guitar for rockabilly… only need to find one with a neck i like, & that gets along with my pocket book! i have found this to be a very knowledgeable group with some broad interests & i like that a lot. plus the threads seem to lack the pointless nastiness guitar forums seem to attract. so after finding myself popping over here a lot, i have finally joined. best part is i wont have to type those hard to read words every time i want to do a search!
my musical interests include blues (1920's — 1950's in particular), new orleans flavored jazz, old-timey, bluegrass, honky-tonk, western swing, rockabilly & few other things. i have an old stella for my acoustic blues playing. she sounds terrific in open G with a slide. & a '93 les paul studio i recently gutted & rewired 1950's style. a very rewarding process. & i fitted her with some lollar low winds & she absolutely sounds great! plus not so long ago i got a good deal on a very minty dearmond rhythm chief 1000 who's waiting to find a special guitar to spend some quality time with… & i play through a tweed fender blues jr.
so i am glad to be here & look forward to contributing!
chris
