any tonal difference between stock 70s pups and CS 69s?Marzio October 21st, 2009, 09:42 PM i really dig the tone i have now through my fender twin and fuzz face but i'm always looking for new things to experiment with. any difference between the two? Marzio October 22nd, 2009, 12:51 AM by stock 70s i mean the pickups that are originally on the 70s reissue strat Mark Davis October 22nd, 2009, 06:11 PM The pickups on the MIM Classic 70's are the same as used on the early HWY1's. They sound completly different than the CS69's. Not sure what Fender uses in the 70's USA models. Jerry J October 22nd, 2009, 06:18 PM What year is a MIA '70's' Re-issue Strat modeled after? Anything before '72 would be similar or the same as the '69, wouldn't it? OBTW, the CS 69's are great pickups made to the same specs as JH's pups and were wound by the same woman - Avril Yberra (sp?) or at least she operated the winding machine. tazzboy October 22nd, 2009, 10:14 PM CS 69 Are way better single coil pickups out there. Marzio October 22nd, 2009, 10:36 PM so yay or nay on switching them out to cs69s? all signs are kind of pointing towards yay. hmmmmmm. otterhound October 23rd, 2009, 08:33 AM I have a set of CS69's on my hardtail and I love 'em . Can't speak on the other . Just for clarity , my CS69's are standard and the are mounted in a lefty , which orients them in reverse . | ||
