I bought what I believe is a 60's Classic Strat. circa 1998 (MN8).

I base this on the type of neck it has and it appears to have 57/62 (they call Vintage in the spec) staggered pole pups @ 5.58 5.55 5.57 ohms all black and white leads.

It is 3 T Sunburst but what I thought is strange is the back of the body is all black ?

Can anyone remember any 3TSB that where like that ?

if the back is all black its not a 60's Classic body those pickups sound right for the 57/62's they are usually 5.6k ohms.

If the back is all black its more than likely a veneered body MIM stds were like this is the MN8 serial on the front of the headstock or back?

If this is the same guitar thats in the whats this wood thread its definatly not a 60's Classic the 60's Classic has all vintage routes not the swimming pool.

Hey thanks Mark. I am putting more of the "pieces" of the puzzle together .
The s/n is on the back of the headstock and I emailed it to Fender and THE NECK is definitely from a 60's Classic players anyway. I'm finding it's a Partsocaster !

You can follow the postings (if possible) that have been more active over here too.
