New to the club...almost ;)

Hi all. I'm pretty close to owning my first tele. Until a couple days ago I was decided on a new Highway 1, but I may now be possibly getting a used (06 I believe) Baja instead. I'd really like some opinions comparing the two if you don't mind (anything will help me). I originally just wanted a MIA tele, but after doing lots of research it seems the MIA Hwy 1 may be of equal quality as the Baja. I have played a Highway 1, and I REALLY dig it. Will be trying the Baja tomorrow, and decide from there. I'm trying not to let the MIA vs. MIM affect my decision. I'm also trading a VERY expensive guitar in order to get this tele, and will be taking a huge hit money-wise. I understand the Baja sells for much more than the Hwy 1 as well. Is it just due to the S1 switching system?

It's taken me 18 years to finally appreciate Telecaster's. Can't wait to own my first one. Happy to be part of the club too!

Hey, there. I'm pretty new myself and was asking about the Baja when I first got here. A lot of people seem to like that guitar on these forums. I really want one myself, I'm just stalking the auction sites and sales because what they are asking for them new right now is pretty darn steep.

OK everyone. So I chose the Baja over the Highway 1. So far so good. It was in immaculate condition from the previous owner. Can't wait to plug in and crank it tonight.
