Anyone have one of these and thus have any opinions?

I'm thinking of getting the EAN40C since online retailers are offering these at such a good price

Solid Cedar Top, Solid Mahogany back, Laminated mahogany sides, built in electronics (incl. tuner) comes with a hardshell case.

Very much a "no frills" guitar however....no neck markers, no pickguard, satin finish.

Looking for a good guitar for when I play fingerstyle (1 11/16" nut is the only downside for me)

I own an EAN-10C and it's one of the best guitars I've ener played.
Great for live stuff as well as recording.
The only con I can find is you really need to amplify for "porch pickin".
A Martin or a Taylor will drown you out.
But then again, I use 10's on mine due to arthritis.

Squeezebox, I haven't had any experience with the Naturals series, but I'm a lifelong Takamine nut, and I can tell you you'll like that guitar (have you bought it yet?) I think the Naturals are Japanese made (best quality,) and that solid cedar/mahogany combination should sound great fingerpicked, or with a pick, for that matter, if you don't hammer it too hard. Its NEX size and the cutaway might cut the volume a bit, though the cedar top will help compensate for that. But you'll like the comfort of the shallower body, and you can always plug it in.

That 1 11/16" nut feels bigger than it sounds, on most Takamines, because they tend to have pretty beefy necks. Most Japanese Takamines are very nice players. Pull the trigger!
