Does anyone have any tricks for installing the pickup springs, after having mine fly accross the room, smack me in the face, I eventually got them in but there must be an easier way.

Pickup spring tipsClive Hugh October 16th, 2009, 06:56 AM Does anyone have any tricks for installing the pickup springs, after having mine fly accross the room, smack me in the face, I eventually got them in but there must be an easier way. Flynman October 17th, 2009, 11:55 AM I do have method that is quite effective...I have my wife hold the springs while I ACT like I am trying screwing them in..then it hits HER in the face....and then she never steps foot in my shop again because she thinks guitar building is not all fun & games....Simple but effective!!! Nick JD October 17th, 2009, 11:40 PM Humbucker helper (couldn't see these being difficult to make in the shed). I don't really understand how they are used though... http://www.stewmac.com/catalog/images_1lg/0066_1lg.jpg Or solder the springs to the base plate. giale123 October 18th, 2009, 10:32 AM i just mount my humbuckers directly to the body. I use a piece of foam for some tension and surgical tubing to adjust the height. Works well. I think a humbucker ring looks ugly on a tele =p |
