polishcomedy October 15th, 2009, 12:05 PM Hey, I just signed up at www.totalvid.com. It's pretty damn sweet. You can watch all sorts of videos, not just for guitar, but there are a lot of instructional videos. They have a 7 day free trial membership. If you want to stay on it's only a few bucks a month. You don't get any tab booklets with the instructional videos, unfortunately, but it's still pretty cool. It's sort of like Netflix only you download the videos directly instead of having them sent to you. Check it out, lots of great titles!
nvilletele October 15th, 2009, 12:22 PM Yeah, but this service doesnt work on a Mac . . . so not able to use it . . .

Yeah, it seems pretty Microsoft centric. I had to download IE 8 (i normally use firefox) to download the videos. It's worth it, though.
garymaddox October 15th, 2009, 03:49 PM Sounds good. Will the videos play for ever or is there a DRM protection involved?
polishcomedy October 15th, 2009, 05:42 PM It's like $10 a month for you to download and keep as long as you wish with unlimited viewing. You also have the option to permanently download and keep. Each video has a different price for that option, but a lot of them are just a few dollars. I wish they had the TAB booklets available. Right now I'm transcribing the licks from Johnny Hiland's Chicken Pickin Guitar vid into Guitar Pro.
garymaddox October 15th, 2009, 06:11 PM Sounds great! I'll check it out. I wouldn't mind getting a copy of the GP transcriptions too, if you are sharing them.

No prob. I also transcribed all of the licks to Steve Trovato's "Country Rock Soloing Concepts". He had put all the licks in standard notation on the screen, but I went ahead and tabbed 'em all out. I didn't transcribe the intro solo, to which there is no music, but maybe I'll do that by ear, too.
Valvey October 16th, 2009, 12:03 AM Total Vid has "Jimmy Bruno's No Nonsense Jazz Guitar," worth viewing even if you aren't into jazz.

I agree, that's an excellent video.
FirstBassman October 16th, 2009, 11:49 AM Thanks.
Other options too:
Netflix has many (if not all) of the Hot Licks videos as well as several other titles (but no Homespun).
And there's also Jorma's web site (http://www.BreakdownWay.com).
