Another attempt at an original country(ish) song

Recorded on Audacity. I did the drums on Acoustica Beatcraft. Electric guitars and bass (clean guitar with an octave effect and some bass boost) were done with Guitar Rig 3. Acoustic guitar, fiddle riff, vocals and slide guitar were recorded with an Apex USB mic. Sometimes I listen to it and I'm really proud of it and other times I cringe at some of the clipping/fuzzy messy parts/guitar work. The solo at the end is way too long and very cheesy. I'd love to keep making country songs but I don't have the voice. I've never been happy with my voice. It started out as a really basic acoustic song and as I added to it I wanted it to have a sort of Whiskeytown feel. Anyway, let me know what you think! Thanks.

Edit: Fixed the link, it's now an mp3 file (thanks psychotelepathic).

Hey you might want to compress into mp3..it's really hard to get folks to listen to your file at 50MB...just some friendly advice.

Got it downloaded. Good job...Don't sell yourself short, you have a good voice, good tones as well. Add a little more twang and you're there! Definitely nailed the whiskeytown vibe...I dig Ryan Adams alot too. Just need to accentuate more and twang it up a little. You're doing a great job of hitting the notes.

i would also suggest making the recording breath more...add dynamics, parts where you play harder/softer. Good luck.
