Does anyone sell a loaded board or at least have a layout of board for this? I am going to build one a thought it would be cleaner and neater than point to point

This Bassman circuit is very primitive, is this your first build? You may want to make some changes to it... gayler October 14th, 2009, 07:07 PM If I get it done this will be my second build. The first was a 5F1 kit. What changes would you recomend? I chose this one because it looked easy compared to later bassman amps. JohnnyCrash October 14th, 2009, 08:09 PM This won't sound like typical "Bassman" amps. If you want a Bassman, thats another story. If you want something basic (cathode biased, etc) with a little more punch than 6V6's deliver, you might want to try a 5D5 Pro or similar. They use 6L6 power tubes in cathode bias, though the input/preamp is a bit wasteful in design (IMO). You could also build a 6L6 upgraded 5E3. gayler October 14th, 2009, 08:18 PM Can you describe how they sound? Is it more the preamp tubes used or something else? Thanks, you always have very good info for everyones questions! RichardM October 14th, 2009, 11:58 PM Is this what you're after? http://www.thevintagesound.com/ffg/schem/bassman_5b6_layout.gif | ||
