Currently I am playing through an old Ilbanez Rock & Play. Not very inspiring. What's out there that you can stick in a gig bag or suitcase for a little away from home practice and jamming.

The one I have used and liked the sound of was a Korg Pandora.

If you also lug around a laptop you could consider Amplitube Fender. There are some small USB audio interfaces that would be easy to stash in a gig bag or whatever. A set of headphones on top of that and you'll have very nice tones without disturbing anyone.

I used to have a Roland Microcube that was pretty good and it can also use batteries if no power is available.

I drag along various little devices, right now I have a Boss Micro BR, but most of the time I leave them in the bag and just play unplugged. I've never really enjoyed playing guitar through earphones.

Hey thanks for the input. I just picked up a Korg PX5D - It has rhythm tracks and a bunch of effects so for the dollars and amount of time I keep my equipment (still have the ibalnez rock & Play - many hrs. on that dog) this seemed like something worth while. Looking forward to many years of learning how to use it!!
