Sample 1. Mal's demo of Godin A4 & Roland GR-20
Recorded in 5 tracks. Direct to Protools console. Everything here was triggered by the A4/SA bass. The bass line itself is the piezo 'acoustic' output blended with a synth patch. it's about 2 mg

Sample 2. Demoing the Godin as a bass... this is the 'acoustic' output without the synth in the way. Recorded direct to a Zoom H4. I took the wav into PT, trimmed the start & end, bounced to MP3. The hi's and mid's I knocked back a bit using the on board EQ on the bass. ABout 1 mg

The line is a riff on the Monk tune 'In Walked Bud' - a wonderful tune though mangled in my hands... Mingus I is not ... To paraphrase Dick Vitale 'The sloppy play is ALL MINE BAYBEE!!!'
These were recorded to be as revealing as possible so no EQ, no compression, no sweetening ... Through my rig the bass really sounds a lot better than this but.. you can still get a sense of how the bass behaves from the second sample I think. I'll do a reference sample of maybe my 62 RI doing that Monk riff pretty soon. That might make for an interesting comparo..
