Anyone seen this yet?

It looks like the real deal to me. I'm really going to be mad at myself if this goes for anywhere near what I just paid for my 1973 Strat. Someone please tell me that this is not the real deal. I know a pretty good amount about old strats though and I can't see anything wrong with it.

Dunno, but that wear doesn't look natural to me.

A couple of things...

The shoulder in the body rout only appeared mid '59 and later, and the bridge saddles should be "pat pend."

I wonder what else?

I think it's an out and out counterfeit. The neck plate is definitely chemically reliced as are the neck screws. The heads will rust before the neck plate, but the threads look pretty new. Bridge saddles will get some corrosion from the heel of your hand but the bridge plate itself usually stays fairly shiny. The tuners appear to be chemically aged as well.

Looks like we scarred him off LOL! The auction is gone although he did say that he was going to end the auction if he wasn't getting what he felt was a reasonable price.
