Finally got me a 5 stringer. A mint USA G&L L-2500. Got it for the price of new Tribute series.

Here is a picture along with it's brother, my 76 Precision, and it's cousin, a 77 Musicman Stingray. I call the Stringray it's cousin, as it doesn't belong to me, but is on long term loan from a friend who no longer plays.

Can you tell I am partial to black/maple basses?

I'd call that an embarrassment of riches, but that's nothing to be embarrassed about!

Nice!

Drool.... ahhhhhhh.......drool......ahhhhhh..... 77 Stringray...oh baby...drool... come to daddy.......drool....
( can ya tell I want one ? )

I've always wanted an early Musicman. Couldn't afford them when they first came out ( 76 or 77 ?).

20 years ago I saw one for sell in a local paper. I answered the ad, traveled an hour to get to the house, and the guy pulled out a lovely mocha brown body with a maple neck. He left me alone in his basement for 20 or 30 minutes while I played it. I feel in love with it but when he came back he told me he had changed his mind and decided not to sell it. I was stunned and left broken hearted ( and little miffed too).

Nice bass ! Thanks for the picture.

I understand that they are finally reissuing the old style MM Sting Rays - 3 knob, string through, etc. It will be called the "EBMM Throwback"
