Best ts808 kit

I want to buy my buddy Kyle a ts808 kit for his birthday because he was modding his ts9 and fried the circuit. Now the clear choice is the GGG kit with the keeley mod and all that good stuff, but they don't ship until OCT 11 for some reason, and Kyle's birthday is today (don't worry I got him an SRV album to hold him over). So I looked at BYOC and their best is the OD 2, but it is not a pure ts808 clone and it's $30 more.

I can't really locate any other sellers of ts kits (perhaps there aren't any), but I would really like to find one kind of in between the GGG and the BYOC. Does anyone know of a retailer who sells something like that, preferably one that will ship today? I would have bought this earlier, but I didn't get paid until this morning.

These guys have a TS 808 version. I have never ordered from them before though. Maybe someone else here has.

I've built the GGG recently. Ordered with BB size box. Very nice kit!

I've done 'Das Screamer' from Das Musikding in Germany. Very cheap kit but goes together well and sounds great. Comes with the symmetrical/assymetrical clipping mod as standard and with the caps for a ts808 or ts9 spec build. I went for the BB size box also. The basic sound from this pedal is very similar to lower gain settings on my T-Rex Mudhoney.

I've built a GGG kit, not 100% satisfied with overall quality, but I guess it was cheaper than other kits. e.g. the pot / jack / LED holes didn't like up, I had to file them and it may have been easier to drill the holes myself

You can build the BYOC Overdrive 2 to TS808 specs if you want though. Plus it has many other options and a built-in boost. It costs more, but I think it's worth it. And if the goal is to get the TS808 sound, you can do that... and then you can change it up if you want.

So buy him the BYOC kit and you can send me his fried TS9... I'll be glad to take it off his hands!
