The Music of Trigger 5

This is my first Twanger Central post, so please be gentle.

My band released this album, 'Heartbreak & Regret,' in August. It's our first. I'm pretty damned proud of it. And I'm doubly proud of the fact that our local independent paper just named us Best Traditional Country Band for 2009. Quite an honor.

Most tracks were my '64 H59 Rocket into a Line6 DL4 into a Yamaha T100C. First track is an Ibanez Artcore (the ES175 knockoff). 'Sangria' is an MIK Danelectro Hodad on rhythm, and a handbuilt (in prison!) ca. '60s solidbody LP-ish sorta thing, through a Smokey amp (Marlboro reds). Tremolo provided by a cheapo Dano stompbox. This album was recorded 95% live in the studio.

Anyway, I hope this link works, and that some of you cats will give it a listen. I respect the taste of this forum quite a lot, so I'm interested in knowing what you think. Hope you like it.

Your tracks sound clean and tight. That is something I am striving for in my studio. Good work.

Thanks, man.

That's the thing I love about old-school country. When you've got nothing to hide behind, you gotta work on cleanliness. I swear I've gotten 10 times better playing with this band for about two years, because I've been forced to work on really basic technique. And it's amazing how that restraint - in terms of tone, technique and taste - becomes so freeing. Zen country guitar.
