In the early 80's a friend asked where the inspration to write songs comes from. I told him that sometimes you just get a tune in your head or a riff that makes you think about something. You just never know.
He asked if I could write a reggae song about being an immigrant who loses his job, ends up drunk on the streets and ends up in a successful band.
So I did.
The weird part was when I went to play it and found out I had no sense of rhythym or timing when it comes to reggae. I could write the song, hear it in my head, but couldn't play it. After 3 or 4 tries I finally got it. Anyway, I finally recorded it in '99.

Oh, the chanting at the beginning is actually the vocal from the chorus at the end played backwards.
