Still geekin' over these "planks" ................

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i32/jsh1970/Picture736.jpg

Some personal family things going on and addition of a second job.
But things are back to just crazy, instead of madness.......Cool stuff coming. Good wood and fun guitars.......I'll throw in some parts and necks very soon too.

Always up for a cool build......What you got in mind ?

Single pickup planks start @ $1099 and on up to $1599.
Lots of options and no rules really.

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i32/jsh1970/Picture644.jpg

Not a better time to be a guitar player.......lots of nice pieces coming out of the assorted smaller shops..........We all would give a body part for a nice vintage, sweet soundin' plank......but today,$1500 can certainly get you really close without sellin' yourself off .....plus you have the choice to have it "your way" too............

Anyway, here some soundclips of various "Planks" thats left the shop. Take a listen......simple riffage and going for classic tones.....Maybe you'll find something ya like.......Jeffro

Hey Jeffro, I really like the look of your work. Maybe someday I can afford one. Where do you get those tarnished looking control plates & knobs.

Thanks so much for the comments..........

I use new ALLPARTS(Gotoh,Wilkinson, ALLPARTS necks )quality hardware and then standard abrasives and some shop tweaked rotary attachments......I stay away from heavy acids......but I'm going for a certain vibe that is not so much junkyard and toxic looking.........Not bashing the "other" guyz !!!!!

Wood...........Where ever I can find good wood.......I use Mario @ Guitar MILL......bare bodies and specs. are picked by myself......Also, a few other suppliers and one guitar geek(Jaydawg) like myself whom is also a builder and member here.......

Pickups are Lollars,TV JONES, Seymour D , Fralins and certainly gotta get something DON MARE soon.......

Each his own and Guitar Geeks need to stick together and look after each other.....

I'll be posting parts, hardware, necks, and full builds in about a month......

My wife is having surgery later today........get her home and healed up and then I'll be bringing some cool product and hopefully full throttle beginning 2010.

Thanks..........

Thats my #1......really the only electric I've used for 2 years. Still rockin' some GFS cheapies.......Used it for everything, church, demo, jammin and giggin...............

Its weighs about 6 pounds and has a very thin finish......pretty much stain and a very thin poly clear coat....

I do have a few of my own to finish though........Really nice ASH body strat and a few pine bodies with P-90s' and Filtertron.

Should be a good winter to get them finished.

Thanks for the comments.

Hey Southern, that custom only weighs 6 lbs? Nice. It looks a lot heavier, probably the big guard and controls. I'm curious, which of those planksters did you prefer soundwise, the p90 or the filtertron? I'm planning something similar and can't decide between the two. I keep going back and forth and its starting to drive me a little nuts.

Guys, Thanks.....Some cool parts and guitars coming........Just have alot going on through the holidays with family and new job.......

Yep......Nice 2 piece pine....therer is alot of routing under the guard though.

Mario @ Guitar Mill has really, really taken care of me........Wait till the next 3 get posted "Forsale" Very good wood in house right now and I got a sweet piece from Jaydawg that I alos might let go...........

I love a P-90.......It is my favorite pickup......But I gotta put a Filtertron right up there too.

No wrong choice........and I'm lucky that I have both as a option.

Here is a link to my soundclip page......I do some clean and OD stuff......even a lame " Radar Gun" riff.....check them out and compare :

Hi. You mentioned refurbs...If you were to refinish a 68 Mustang body, if you do just refinishes, what would that cost ~ballpark? Nothin' fancy just a stock Fender-ish color?

Nice looking guitars by the way....

thanks,

ahh i see, grain/figure looks very nice has it been darkened by the filler or is it all from the staining?

i assume build questions is permitted in the vendor forum, if not applelogs
