Reviving/modding an old Dunlop Wah

I have a dunlop Crybably Wah that I got in the late 80's (I think).

I haven't used it for probably 10 years (I just sort of grew away from that sound), but I've now got a use for it (I think).

So I plugged it in and it sounds like crap- very noisy, not much of a range, etc. Not pure bypass, so it sucks tone, etc. Honestly I was n ever all that happy with the sound, even back then.

So here's the question: What should I do with this thing? Can I rebuild it to Vox specs or something?

I'm gonna post this question on BYOC too. Thanks.

you probably just need to put a new pot in there.

Dunlop still offers every internal part for the crybaby as well as a " hot pot" replacement pot. I'm sure there are all kinds of true bypass DIY mods on the net too. The crybaby is a really simple pedal.
