Would a shotgun mic work in a church setting with a PA system for picking up a comment from someone in the audience, or would there be too much feedback?

Anyone Try a Shotgun Mic?markw51 September 26th, 2009, 07:10 PM Would a shotgun mic work in a church setting with a PA system for picking up a comment from someone in the audience, or would there be too much feedback? jb12string September 26th, 2009, 08:49 PM its probably not the best option, I wouldn't think. If you have a wireless mic to send out, that would a better option. You could ask the guys over here http://www.churchsoundcheck.com/list.html Ron Garson September 27th, 2009, 11:18 AM In a church, which is likely to be somewhat reverberant, or "lively" in acoustic, a shotgun is not a good choice, unless you can get very close...which defeats what you are suggesting! There is also the possibility of howlround if you are in front of speakers. The wireless suggestion is good, so if you can get a handheld mic to the speaker, it will be very much better! bokeh November 19th, 2009, 12:02 PM Why not just give a wireless mic to everyone in the congregation? You should be good to go.But I would suggest a decent hand held wireless mic. | ||
