they have a pushbutton boost that i never use.
i turned my amp on and the boost is stuck on and the switch won't turn it off.
can it be easily disabled permanently?

The button is PCB mounted, and it's irritating to pull the board out of the amp, but not especially difficult. You have to remove all the hardware from the controls and input on the panel and then take the screws out of the back in order to pull the board away from the panel..
You may have to unplug the crimp connectors that attach the board to the power switch too. Don't forget to plug those back in.
Once you get it out, you should be able to get at the button easily enough. My guess is that you could pretty much snap the thing off, but I would hesitate to actually suggest that you do it that way without taking a peek at the switch first. At very least you should be able to fix the stuck button by removing the board.
I may do that too. I never use the boost. In fact, when I recently fixed mine with a new master volume pot, I thought I had done something wrong. The amp sounded terrible. I finally figured out that the boost was on...

thanks ben. the button is not stuck. it just doesn't do anything. i am hoping to be able to disable the boost all together. it sounds like crap anyway
