58 Ri pickups?

Anyone know what pickups came stock in the Gibson 58 reissue Les Pauls?

I cant tell if the spare set I have are early versions of the "57 classics" or something else.

They have the nickel covers, braided wire (2 wire not 4), with "Gibson USA" stamped on the bottom. The pole pieces on the underside are gold for one, and silver colored on the other; both have nickel plated heads on the top.

It depends on the year, what year is yours ?

the Gibson USA makes me thinks they are changed. It would have 57's Older) or Burst Buckers. 57's will have a PAF decal on the bottom, BB's will have the PAF and then wound by and what # it is. as in BB # 1, BB# 2, BB# 3....

The year might be helpful, eh?! its a 1998 model. Guess I'm gettin' old ;)

I'm begining to think the Gibson pickups I have are possibly 498/490. I've found that when installed by Gibson, they come with the two wire, but when sold as replacements they are four wire. Either one was available with nickel covers. Guess my next step is to buy a multi meeter and get a reading on each.

In the end, I think its safe to rule out these being 57's... they are likely the 498/490.
