Has anyone tried a Beavis Audio "Beavis Board"?

I've been totally smitten by the pedal building bug, and I think I've found my Holy Grail: the Beavis Audio "Beavis Board" (http://www.beavisaudio.com/bboard/):

This is a breadboard PCB along with a dedicated breakout box & tons 'o parts for $250. The Beavis Audio website is packed with great pages, and the guy writing them is really funny, too. On the Harmony Central Effects Forum, the guy is considered a national treasure.

Here are some of the kits you can build (with new ones being added all the time):

567 Modulator
Atari Punk Console
Bazz Fuss
Boutique
TubeScreamer
Brian May Treble Booster
Cigarette Amp
DOD Overdrive 250
Dual Oscillator
EA Tremolo
Fuzz Face
Gretsch Controfuzz
IC Buffer
JFET Buffer
LPB-1
Muff Fuzz
MXR Distortion+
Noisy Cricket
Orange Squeezer
Ruby
Power Supply Filter
PWM
Red LLama
Runoffgroove
Mockman
Trotsky Overdrive

I'd like to make my own setup one day, but this would great for those learning to get into electronics.

Thanks for posting,

I <3 Beavis. He rules. My band mate and i have a bunch of his stuff and built a few things from his site. I used the noisy cricket a lot on my last recording and on my mountaintop gig last spring.

Having trouble reading the picture. What's the breakout box do?

The breakout box just makes it easy to wire up the Line In / Line Out / power and footswitches to the breadboards. So you can try out different ideas or build clones of classic pedals and they make custom mods without worrying about I/O or power.

Then, when you've finalized your design, you can buy one of his Beavis Protobreads (these are breadboards that match the layout on the Beavis Board) and make your designs permanent.

I figure for $250, I'll get to have access to at least two dozen different pedals. 24 pedals would cost A LOT more than $250!

For the record, I finally ordered one of these along with 3 of his "Beavis Protobreads" -- breadboards that match the layout of the Beavis Board for making permanent circuit boards.

The waiting list is between 2 weeks and 2 months, but I'm in the queue. (I know what I'm getting for Christmas!)

Here's a picture of the "Beavis Protobread". The section in the corner is dedicated to circuitry for cancelling hum from external power supplies along with a resistor for the LED.
