I recently got a Presonus Firebox, thing is, I can't connect it to my laptop at all. The usb doesn't fit the normal usb 2.0 jack so what do I do? Help?

It's called a Firebox 'cause it connects with a firewire. Those aren't USB ports, they're 6-circuit firewire IEE 1394 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firewire) ports. If your laptop has a firewire port, it's probably a smaller 4-circuit one. You can get a cable to connect the devices, but, unlike, a 6-circuit port, a 4-circuit port does not provide power, so you'll have to use the power adapter to run the Firebox.

You might need power to run the firebox regardless. My MacBook Pro does not give enough power to boot up the Firebox (but once it is booted up, it can run just off the Firewire cable as long as I don't put the computer to sleep and then wake it up),
It works fine on just power through the Firewire cable with the family's smaller powerbook though.
