I would like to replace the cheap plastic bridge on my acoustic. Some questions:
How do I choose?
When I find the right one can I just pop it in myself?

I do some of the work on my electrics like basic set up, intonation, replaced the bridge on two and tuners on one of them, But never worked on my acoustic.

if you mean the bridge saddle(the thin plastic strip that the strings rest on) , it should be an easy job. The bridge itself is glued to the body and is more work ...

The only thing that holds the saddle in place is the string pressure.

The harder that bridge material the better. A bone drop-in saddle is very nice.

You simply need the correct width for your guitar.

Compensated Bone saddle for under $5.00 - Link (http://cgi.ebay.com/Compensated-Bone-Saddle-for-Acoustic-3-x7-64-x11-32_W0QQitemZ140343881391QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar_ Accessories?hash=item20ad25aeaf&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14)

This seller has great feedback.....20,000+ at 100% postive.

You sand the bottom of the saddle blank to lower the string height.
