Hi there,
Just found one (escort battery) in a garage sale in Paris. I snapped it up for 15 euros.
It is not working. I have started to clean it up and to repair it. I will post again after rebuild.

Bought mine new in 1980 or 81 along with a '79 strat and a tube screamer.

The Vox is the only 1 of the 3 I still own.

I've recorded with it and even did a gig with it once.

Now it only works for a couple of minutes at a time and slowly fades out to nothing....

A friend gave me one of the battery driven Escorts a while back. It did have an ac supply option, but the transformer had worked its way loose and was broken. Stripped the thing down, and rebuilt it less the ac power stuff, new batteries and it worked fine. Sounded OK for what it is. The only problem was that the power switch was u/s so unbeknown to me it didn't always turn off - and that gets expensive on batteries...
