Advice on giving lessons

I posted this in the Theory/Practice or whatever it's called section as well, but wanted to get opinions here as well since it does have to do with playing in church somewhat.

I play in my church band and have recently been approached by a member about giving lessons to their 9 or 10 year old son. This is something that I've been open to doing, but he will be my 1st student and I was hoping that some of you experienced guitar teachers out there could give me some advice on what to do/not do.

He has taken some lessons in the past so he's not a complete beginner in that he knows how to tune up and at least some of the basics.

I would appreciate any suggestions on the best way to make it fun and challenging especially in relation to a boy of that age and what they can handle.

thanks

First get a good feel for the students potential and interests, then push him/her to achieve more and more with each lesson but only to the point of the lessons still remaining fun and interesting, in other words push just slightly harder than the students normal pace.
