Anyone had the gloss finish fall off of their acoustic?

Anyone had the gloss finish fall off of their acoustic? My Tacoma sounds awesome and I know that finish bubbles are common with Tacomas. Yesterday one of the bubbles cracked and a half-palm sized chunk of clear gloss fell into my lap. I don't play this as much as I should but I bought it from Elderly with the bubbles as used and they, plus my local tech, said it's fine. Now...what do I do? Is it alright? I imagine it'll reverberate better once it's all gone. Is the guitar structurally sound after this happens? I'd think it is but this has never happened to me. I wanna see if it's happened to others before and what they found.
Questions, comments or concerns.

P.S. I don't play it as often as I should and it stays in a case and doesn't have as much humidity as it should most times...I know, I know.

Thanks

if a polyester finish is applied correctly, it should be pretty much indestructible ... sounds like a manufacturing quality issue ... i am assuming there is no warranty, but you might contact Tacoma support for advice ... they might be aware of problems and solutions ...

I know that it's farily common for Tacomas in a certain period. I think they're owned by fender now...who isn't?!? IT's a few years old and theres not a lot of information out there about this particualr model for some reason. The wood underneath the broken away part looks shiney?!? Like there is a chemical on it before they finish it. Heck I don't know...I just wanna know if it'll be okay. I don't have another six hundo for a good american made acoustic.

I had two different Tacomas start "bubbling" on me. I sent one back to them (before Fender owned them) under warranty and after a few months (and an inquiry from me as to what is going on), they sent me a brand new guitar of the same model (a jumbo with solid Koa back and sides).

YMMV, LB.

well that's fantastic but doesn't really answer any questions. I would like to see the guitar though. :)

My Tacomas are all long gone, sold to finance more GAS. As to your original questions, I would just be speculating, but I would think that your guitar will sound more "alive" with no finish but I also think it will be more susceptible to seasonal humidity changes and such with no finish. I guess you'll see. HTH, LB

Yes that's my thought as well. I mean lots of people prefer no heavy gloss because of that reason. I guess we'll see.
Thanks
