Tele tone/volume pot advice

I have a Japan Tele 62 reissue from the early 2000's that has scratchy, noisy pots.

The pots are also not very responsive and consistent when turned. The volume decreases loads with only a slight turn when opened all the way and the tone pot is similar.

Is there something i can do to improve the existing pots? And if not, which pots do you recommend i replace the existing ones with?

Also, the pickups seriously hum. Anything i can do to improve these to? iv mostly played a strat with lace sensors and HB guitars so not use to the hum. Althou i do love the tone of this guitar.

Cheers for your help!

WELCOME to the forum.

Hum-----single coils do hum/buzz a little but:

Bad connections somewhere possibly - check ALL ground wires and connections especially the output jack.

pots: try spraying contact cleaner in them and then spin them back and forth a few times. By your description of the problem that sounds like dirty pots.

Your link is not for CTS pots....Stew-Mac doesn't sell CTS, last I checked...Those are the Metric Pots...they will work...but have splined shafts like a Strat.
