I don't have any pics of my MIM strat but its your typical black strat. I'm probably going to sell it soon anyway. Otterhound, love the hardtail. Is that a rosewood neck?

Thanks for asking , straightface . It is 1/4 sawn Walnut/Madagascar Rosewood . I love the way it turned out . Looks like a one piece , even up close . I had no idea that it would finish up that way . I have more Walnut and I can assure you that more necks are going to be made .

Thank you ! It certainly is a looker, it was my first Strat.

I bought it in 1984 from a local player who plays "lefty righty", i.e. held left handed but strung right handed, hence the brass nut. It is a heavy Strat, and even today I still prefer a Strat with a bit of weight in it.

Just curious Southpaw Guy , what does she weigh and what do you consider to be heavy ?

'87 I think. it's MIJ, upgraded with Callaham trem block, SD antiquity II pickups and OAK switch.

I've never actually weighed it, it's not as heavy as my Les Paul Standard which weighs about 10lbs. I bought a couple of American strats in the late '80s and they were feather weight compared to it, they just felt like toys. I didn't keep those for long.

The last few ash body G&Ls I got, both ASAT and Legacy, are also heavy. I seem to like them that way.

This one started out as a '98 AVRI '62 Strat. The neck is now a Warmoth Total Vintage, the pickups are SD Alnico II Pros, and I recently had it refinished in its current Sonic Blue paint job.
