I was messing around with my iphone the other night. Curiousity got the better of me, and I made a recording using the voice memo app that comes on the phone. I panned the balance to one side which cuts the bass out of the track, then plugged into my my "squier '51 bass VI frankenstein thing" into my b dec. Put the phone on the floor and pushed record. Not great, but not as bad as expected. Here is the result.

Got me thinking, are there any good recording apps out there? Any reviews?

There's one called FourTrack that is cool. I mostly use mine capturing song ideas while driving, and this actually allows you to cover four tracks, which I have used fro vocal parts and harmonies. Some cool apps out there.

And don't forget Strobosoft! It's like ten bucks or so, but worth it to have a highly accurate digital "strobe" tuner always at your disposal.
