octatonic September 2nd, 2009, 07:41 PM Hi people,
I know I have left the forum for a while but I found this and thought you guys might really like it.
Line 6 have made Pod Farm completely free but only during September.
This doesnt mean it only works for September, it means you have until the end of September to get the software/license and then you have it for good.
I've been a big fan of Amp Far for TDM- I have only played around with POD Farm for about an hour but it is on par with the TDM plugin.
I've done a bit of a demo of the JCM800 model- I overcooked it a bit, but it certainly sound raunchy.

My signal chain is:
PRS Custom 24 -> M-Audio ProFire 610 -> Logic Compressor -> Pod Farm
I tracked at 96k and rendered down to mp3, no other processing.
The only effect is a bit of delay.
Get the software at:

octatonic September 2nd, 2009, 07:42 PM Forgot to mention:
You need either an iLok key or a Line 6 product like the POD, Toneport etc for it to work.
garytelecastor September 2nd, 2009, 07:56 PM Thanks, Octatonic.
I have a POD XT live so I will be looking in to the deal.
woodman September 2nd, 2009, 09:54 PM Jim — i've got an ancient Pod 2.0 (bought as POD 1 in 1999, upgraded to 2 a year or so later) ... reckon that would qualify?
great clip, by the way — made me wish i was 25 again!
TeleJelly September 2nd, 2009, 10:09 PM I have a Line 6 Guitarport, just downloaded it and will check it out this week.
Thanks Octonic...BTW nice clip
Brian blaut September 2nd, 2009, 10:17 PM COOL. Thanks the heads up. I would have never known. I have an older UX2 and I'd love to have plugin support for it.
sonicland September 2nd, 2009, 10:25 PM Many thanks, I have an iLok for my ProTools set-up. It's downloading now and I'm very much looking forward to trying it out.

Thanks Woody, It was fun to make.
I will bounce a copy of the file using Amp Farm as well as POD Farm for comparison.
I dont think so.
Required Hardware:
GuitarPort
PODxt
PODxt Live
PODxt Pro
TonePort GX
TonePort KB37
TonePort UX1
TonePort UX2
You have a Protools rig though don't you?
If you have an iLok then you can download the license to that (which is what I did).
araT September 3rd, 2009, 07:16 AM Awesome, cheers James!
beep.click September 4th, 2009, 06:03 AM I don't understand how this works; can someone explain?
I went to the Line 6 link, but all it downloaded was a license code.
How does the software actually get on your PC? My RECORDING computer doesn't connect to the internet... at all; ever.
Brian blaut September 4th, 2009, 02:07 PM For me, I first did what you did and got a code. Then through the line6 monkey program (came with my toneport, line6's utility that installs and upgrades things) I activated it. It was then activated, but wouldn't show up in garageband or anywhere on my harddrive. THEN, I finally went back in to the line6 monkey program and saw that POD Farm, the program wasn't actually downloaded yet, so I clicked the button to make that happen. Very strange. You'd think the activation, installation process would actually download the program, or at least let you know you haven't don't that yet (that's what I get for not reading the installation directions I suppose).
Anyways, cool program. All the models and effects seem to be the same as in Gearbox, only it takes me longer to get around the interface in the Pod Farm. But you can have 2 simultaneous rigs going. VERY cool feature.
guitarzan13 September 4th, 2009, 02:29 PM Thanks!

More than that- you can have as many instantiations of the plugins as your processor can handle and you can always go back and tweak the sounds later.
With gearbox you have to commit to a certain tone when you are tracking, I believe.
mlipping September 6th, 2009, 10:33 PM I've had the UX2 for six months and Pod Farm is cool. I'm a beginner and it sure does make practicing more interesting. Gearbox is cool too but I prefer Pod. Anyone out there have any of the upgrades yet? I'm looking at the 'classic' but it's $50.
