I would like some info on how to fix my Parsons/Green b bender. When I release my bend, there's a metallic click where the strap button mechanism hits the metal plate on the back of the guitar. I'm thinking there's an adjustment that could be made in the gaggle of nuts and bolts under the plate. Any suggestions?

It is not that bad a gaggle, have a look. BUT DO NOT TAKE OUT ALL THE SCREWS!!!!!!
Just take out the small ones around the edges. I made the mistake of unscrewing the big ones and the thing exploded all over the place. And it is a ***** trying to get the spring re-streched and attached.
If you remove the bender it be become instantly clear where the click is coming from...you can pad it if need be.

I've had the back plate off and that's kind of how I got into trouble. I adjusted the length of the spring and put it back and everything is fine except for the click. I know where it's coming from (I can see it) and I could pad it but I'm wodering if there's an adjustment that will keep the metal strap holder from clicking into the back plate. The gaggle of nuts where I'm thinking the adjustment could be made is right under the biggest screw on the back plate-the one you for sure don't want to take out! But that biggest screw is an adjustment for something. Any idea what?

Did you check to see if the cork pad where the adjustment mechanism comes rest is still in place? I had the same problem with the click,it was caused by the lever hitting the bottom of the slot when it returned after a bend, the pad on my mechanism had completely disapeared. You should have a slight gap between the lever and the bottom of the slot when the lever is at rest,if you do not have a gap then the pad is missing inside the bender.

Absolutely right! The cork pad had disintegrated. Put a new one in place and it works like a charm! Thanks a million!

The Stringbender.com site is excellent! Thanks to all of you for your timely help. I'm now happily (and quietly) bending!

The pads on my Hipshot P/G were plastic buttons. It didn't take long for that top pad to side sideways and fall off. I replaced both of mine with glued thick leather pads and haven't had a problem since. I've never had a problem with my Fender unit and the pads there also appear to leather.
